Unless there are DSL lines run directly to your home, our rural internet service relies on NLOS (Near Line of Sight) to get the internet from a wireless signal from one of our towers to your home or business.

The terrain in Northern Ontario proves to be very difficult for wireless services because there are many hills and trees that can block the signal.

Think of wireless like trying to change the channel on your TV when there is something blocking the receiver on the TV. No matter how close you are to the TV, if there is something significant blocking the signal from the remote to the TV, you will be unable to change the channel. The person sitting next to you might be at an angle where the remote and TV can connect and change the channel, but you cannot.
